Castle of Peyrepertuse
There at Duilhac, perched at an altitude of 800 meters, in the heart of a nature still wild, the castle dominates the Corbieres Pyrenees to the shores of the Mediterranean. Part of the historical line of defence between France and Aragon, this great royal fortress is equal in area to the City of Carcassonne. The extent of its remains and the quality of its construction make it an outstanding example of the mediaeval military architecture of the Languedoc. It has been listed as a historical monument since 1908.
From 1 July to 31 August 2012, in the fortress of Corbieres, discover a unique psectacle falconry, written by the talented falconer: Patrice POTIER, demonstrating the prowess of its prey (eagles, falcons, hawks, owls ...)
Three shows per day: 11.30, 14.30, 16.30.
8 and 9 August 2012, the 10th Mediaeval Festival of Peyrepertuse will be held on 8 and 9 August 2012 in a wonderful setting where major French and European performers will take you back into the heart of history. At the foot of the castle and within its walls: reproduction of a mediaeval village, amusements, strolling entertainment and shows for all ages from 9.00am to 6.00pm.Adults: €12.
